Social Emotional Literacy: A Recipe for Connected Learning

9am-3pm

What does it take to create a compassionate community of learners? Inspired by the classic tale of Stone Soup, in which a community comes together to create something out of nothing, we will explore ways to bring individual student stories and family history into the classroom and create collaborative projects to strengthen community connections. Learn strategies to support foundational reading skills, oral language development, and creative writing. Participants will have time to collaborate with fellow educators and experience parts of a unit plan to implement in an extended learning program.

Social Emotional Literacy: Learning Is A Connection Project

Saturday, August 25 @ Moonshot Learning Center

2066 14th Ave, Vero Beach

8am-2pm

Do you want to have the best school year ever? It all starts with connection. Learn how to create a climate and culture that makes all students feel safe and ready to learn. Leave with a deeper understanding of social emotional literacy and why it is critical to connect students to each other and to the content. Take away strategies that will help you create a community of learners in your school.
