Moonshot Academy

The Moonshot Academy (MSA) after school and summer program is a learning lab for both students and teachers.  It provides extra time to catch up students that are behind in literacy skill development, and teachers are empowered to use this time as a professional development opportunity. Students have extended learning time with small group tutoring and dynamic learning experiences connected to meaningful texts. Teachers are given 6 hours of PD before the launch of each session where the main thread of the TLA created unit plan is presented for the next 7 week roll out. The goal is to create literate, compassionate and creative citizens who will improve our world. Currently, we serve 7 MSA Schools, 80 teachers and 410 students. As with everything we do, it is customized to meet the individual teacher, student and school needs.
